Zeola
Gaye
Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Zeola
“Zee” Gaye is the youngest of five siblings born to Alberta and
Marvin Gay, Sr. Her
three brothers, and sister.
Zee relocated
to Los Angeles in the early 70’s to join the rest of the Gaye
family after living in Atlanta, Georgia for four years. She
presently splits her time between her home in Las Vegas, Nevada, and
Los Angeles, California, where she lives with her two lovely
daughters, Kim and Monique, and the joy of her life, her grandson, Domonique.
During the late 70’s, she traveled with her
famous brother, Marvin Gaye, on many tours, working in several
capacities. She served as the wardrobe coordinator for Marvin and
the band as a background singer on his hit “Got To Give It Up.”
She has been one of his dancers on his European and U.S. tours.
Zee also served as personal assist to her
brother on his last tour “Midnight Love” as well as at home. She
worked in Marvin’s recording studio as traffic manager, booking
sessions for other artists who used his studio to record. She was
with him during all of his ups and downs after his tour ended in
1983, until his untimely demise.
“My Brother Marvin” has been a long time
coming and long overdue—twenty-four years to be exact. Zeola has
often dreamed of squashing all the falsehoods and rumors in having
the true story told about her family.
Zeola feels that Marvin’s fans all over the
world and all who loved him will appreciate the truth s finally being told, thru
her stage play, Documentary and book.
